Friends Week

Thought For The Day

GOOD looks catch the eye but a GOOD personality catches the heart.
You're blessed with both!

It's "Friends Day" - Send this to all your good friends. Even me, if I am one of them. See how many you get back. If you get more than 3, you are really a lovable person.

Swine Flu News

Studies: Swine flu lasts days after fever stops

When the coughing stops is probably a better sign of when a swine flu patient is no longer contagious, experts said after seeing new research that suggests the virus can spread many days after a fever goes away.

The federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has been telling people to stay home and avoid contact with others until a day after their fever breaks. The new research suggests they may need to be careful longer.

Swine flu also appears to be contagious longer than ordinary seasonal flu, several experts said.

“This study shows you're not contagious for a day or two. You're probably contagious for about a week,” said Gaston De Serres, a scientist at the Institute of Public Health in Quebec.

He presented one of the studies Monday at an American Society for Microbiology conference. It is the first big meeting of disease experts since last spring's emergence of swine flu, which now accounts for nearly all of the flu cases in the United States. More than 1 million Americans have been infected and nearly 600 have died from it, the CDC estimates.

It is unclear whether the new research will lead the CDC to rethink its advice on how long people with swine flu should hole up. Long breaks from school and work do not seem worth it for a virus that now seems to cause mostly mild illness, said the CDC's flu chief, Nancy Cox.

IN MEMORY

In Memory of all the family members, relatives and friends we lost due to cancer.

In Memory - this one I do ask, please pass on.

IN MEMORY . . . . .

These are the colors that represent the different cancers. All you are asked to do is keep this circulating. Even if it's to one more person. In memory of anyone you know that has been struck by cancer.

A Candle Loses Nothing by Lighting Another Candle. Please Keep The Candle Going! This one I do ask that you please send on.

Dear God, I pray for the cure of cancer. Amen

All you are asked to do is keep this circulating. Even if it's only to one more person. In memory of anyone you know who has been struck down by cancer or is still living with it. A Candle Loses Nothing by Lighting Another Candle...

Please Keep This Candle Going.

Pastor Removal

This one has been going around for years! When I got it recently, it had nearly 1000 signatures in its body. I did not sign it, after reading the related Snopes article. It's just another Urban Legend!

... the [FCC] is enjoined by the First Amendment to observe a stance of neutrality toward religion, acting neither to promote nor inhibit religion.

The FCC has no authority to ban religious programming. It literally is a myth.

Despite ... claims that Dr. Dobson is soliciting Christians to sign a petition to counter RM-2493, he has denied any involvement with this.

Read the Snopes article, it's interesting!

Pastor Removal from Television

Removal of Joel Osteen, Joyce Meyer, Charles Stanley, David Jeremiah and other pastors from the airwaves.

An organization has been granted a Federal Hearing on the same subject by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in Washington, D.C. Their petition, Number 2493, would ultimately pave the way to stop the reading of the gospel of our Lord and Savior, on the airwaves of America. They got 287,000 signatures to back their stand!

If this attempt is successful, all Sunday worship services being broadcast on the radio or by television will be stopped. This group is also campaigning to remove all Christmas programs and Christmas carols from public schools! You as a Christian can help!

We are praying for at least 1 million signatures. This would defeat their effort and show that there are many Christians alive, well and concerned about our country. As Christians, we must unite on this.

Please don't take this lightly. We ignored one lady once and lost prayer in our schools and in offices across the nation. Please stand up for your religious freedom and Met your voice be heard. Together we can make a difference in our country while creating an opportunity for the lost to know the Lord.

Please, if you don't wish to participate, return this email to whoever sent it to you so they can at least keep this email going or forward it to someone you know who will wish to participate..

Dr. Dobson is going on CNBC to urge every Christian to get involved. I hope you will sign and forward to all your family and friends. Please press forward, CLEAN UP THE MESSAGE, and forward this to everyone you think should read this.

Now, please sign your name at the bottom (you can only add your name after you have pressed 'Forward' or you have copied and pasted the text).. Don't delete any other names, just go to the next number and type your name. Please do not sign jointly, such as Mr. & Mrs., each person should sign his/her own name. Please defeat this organization and keep the light of our freedom of religion.

When you get to 1000 please e-mail back to: ............

Words of Brilliance

Here is an email I just received, which contains a list of "Brilliant" quotes. Actually, they are less than brilliant and some may find them funny. Don't judge the quoted person too harshly. We have all said some rather unintelligent things; I know I have on occasion!

Feeling smarter yet?

Send it on to your brilliant friends!

DO IT WHILE YOU CAN!

One day a woman's husband died, and on that clear, cold morning, in the
warmth of their bedroom, the wife was struck with the pain of learning that
sometimes there isn't "anymore". No more hugs, no more special
moments to celebrate together, no more phone calls just to chat, no more
"just one minute." Sometimes, what we care about the most gets all
used up and goes away, never to return before we can say good-bye, say"I
love you."

So while we have it, it's best we love it, care for it, fix it when
it's broken and heal it when it's sick. This is true for marriage .....
And old cars .. And children with bad report cards, and dogs with bad hips, and
aging parents and grandparents. We keep them because they are worth it, because
we are worth it.

Some things we keep -- like a best friend who moved away or a sister-in-law
after divorce. There are just some things that make us happy, no matter what.

Life is important, like people we know who are special.. And so, we keep them
close!

I received this from someone who thought I was a 'keeper'! Then I sent
it to the people I think of in the same way... Now it's your turn to send
this to all those people who are "keepers" in your life, including the
person who sent it, if you feel that way. Suppose one morning you never wake
up, do all your friends know you love them?

I was thinking...I could die today, tomorrow or next week, and I wondered if I
had any wounds needing to be healed, friendships that needed rekindling or
three words needing to be said.

Let every one of your friends know you love them. Even if you think they
don't love you back, you would be amazed at what those three little words
and a smile can do. And just in case I'm gone tomorrow.

I LOVE YA!!!

Live today to the fullest because tomorrow is not promised..
